Intelligent document processing (IDP)
One of the pivotal strides in ProcessMaker’s journey in 2023 was the acquisition of Doculayer, enabling the provision of a streamlined document processing solution. Departing from the constraints imposed by traditional robotic process automation (RPA) that predominantly deals with structured documents, ProcessMaker’s Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) empowers users to efficiently handle unstructured documents. Whether it’s PDFs, receipts, or handwritten notes, IDP seamlessly navigates through a diverse array of document types.
Generative AI
ProcessMaker’s commitment to innovation is evident in the incorporation of Generative AI, a technology that is redefining automation capabilities. The suite includes Text-to-Process, an intuitive AI Assistant, AI-Powered Global Search, and Process Translation. These features collectively empower users to streamline processes, enhance decision-making, and transcend language barriers.
Text-to-Process
Text-to-process, another term for AI Process Generation, is an extraordinary feature from our ‘23 Summer Release. The feature empowers users to design process maps in seconds just by describing their desired process in their own words. Natural language processing (NLP) has been revolutionary for intelligent process automation, decimating the learning curve. Users no longer need to have technological expertise before designing a process—virtually anyone can do this.
However, ease-of-use isn’t the only highlight here; the text-to-process feature design process maps within seconds. You can forget about spending days, hours, or even minutes planning your process. Simply describe your process and watch it rapidly generate before your eyes. In order to make this amazing feature even more accessible, we offer a text-to-process free trial. AI Assistant
Our AI Assistant is one of our newest features, emerging from our Fall Release. The AI Assistant is your intuitive, personal helper while you build a process. Check out our first Fall Release webinar to see our AI Assistant in action.
AI-Powered Global Search
ProcessMaker introduces more artificial intelligence features— one of these being a new global search bar that leverages AI and natural language processing (NLP) to simplify the search experience. This innovative addition to the platform allows users to search for specific processes, tasks, or requests without in-depth knowledge of the platform’s query language (PMQL).
AI Process Translation
Language barriers are a thing of the past with process translation. This feature, from our Spring Release, can translate anything, making it accessible to all who use it.
Collaborative tools
Recognizing the importance of collaboration in modern workflows, ProcessMaker introduced Collaborative Tools such as Process Templates and PM Blocks. Process Templates enable the seamless replication of successful workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency across various projects. Meanwhile, PM Blocks provide modular components that can be easily integrated into workflows, fostering a more agile and dynamic approach to process design.
Process Templates
Our Process Templates are ready-made blueprints that provide a head start in designing and implementing new processes. This innovative feature saves time and promotes consistency and collaboration across teams. This feature solves a common work problem: spending too much time on small, repetitive tasks and not enough on big ones. Process Templates drastically cut your task time.
PM Blocks
PM Blocks are just one of the newest ProcessMaker automation tool features built with citizen developers in mind. Using PM Blocks, you can bundle up key business process automation (BPA) steps into a reusable, drag-and-drop element. According to Gartner, 4 out of 10 employees are already earning the title of citizen developer. PM Blocks will make it even easier for you to welcome even more low-code users into the process development ranks.

UX/UI Improvements & Performance Enhancements
ProcessMaker’s commitment to user experience and performance is evident in the array of improvements introduced in 2023. The design has been optimized for mobile screens, facilitating enhanced accessibility and flexibility. Photo and video capture functionalities have been integrated, enriching the capabilities of the platform. Decision Tables, another notable addition, offer a visual and intuitive way to map complex decision logic within workflows.
Design for mobile screens
With the new Design for Mobile Screens features that shipped with the ProcessMaker Summer Release, you can craft your mobile experience down to the last detail.
Hide an element or two, or create a completely different experience exclusively for mobile screens. With these new tools, you can ensure your workflow is sharp, streamlined, and satisfying on Apple iOS or Android.
Photo/Video capture
ProcessMaker’s new Photo/Video Capture tool makes it easier than ever to request, collect, and analyze multimedia files from your users. This feature from our Summer Release improves business processes by boosting collaboration, improving customer satisfaction, automating data entry, saving time, making better decisions, and securing storage.
Decision Tables
Decision Tables make it easier for you, the process designer, to visualize and map conditional logic. They’re the thought processes your automations use to solve complex scenarios.
Free trials
Aside from the incredible aforementioned text-to-process feature, there are various free trials for different features. In addition to the transformative features mentioned above, ProcessMaker is extending various free trials to enable organizations to experience the full spectrum of intelligent automation capabilities. Features such as ID Verification, Tax Document Processing, Invoice Processing, and Transfer Credits are available for exploration through these trials, allowing users to make informed decisions about adopting these functionalities.
ID Verification
The ID Verification feature is 99.999% accurate. The feature matches an ID to an application in real time, instantly comparing official ID documents to users’ selfies.
Tax Documents
Our Tax Documents free trial allows you to upload or snap a photo of any tax document. Our system will automatically verify its accuracy before extracting and categorizing its data.
Invoice Processing
The Invoice Processing feature prompts you to upload or take a picture of any invoice file and receive a data extraction of the information included.
